I see many people coming into my office concerned about how they appear to others. They sometimes blame their appearance for certain failures in their lives.

Unless we look like an evil witch at Halloween nobody notices the imperfections that we see daily in our mirror. Our presentation includes many facets besides looks. The changes/perceived corrections that we want go unnoticed or inconsequential to other people.

I hear patients say that their good friend thinks they are crazy to undergo some procedure. This is said by their friend, for the most part, because they honestly never paid attention to that detail. We are our harshest critic.

But, we have no one to please but ourselves. When a correction makes us feel more confident we present a more positive appearance.broom, costume, face
