Recently there was an article in the New York Times that posited the idea that good-looking people were more successful in politics (and by natural extension: all other endeavors) since there was a “halo effect” conferring all kinds of positive attributes. Also the article advanced the theory that good-looks featured smooth skin, shiny hair, facial and body proportions that indicated good health. This certainly is a positive attribute for someone who wants have a leading role in business or society.

What aesthetic surgery offers is not a “gold standard” of beauty that the article above discusses but rather something much more important. Personal cosmetic improvement helps the individual feel better about their appearance and therefore gains SELF CONFIDENCE! It is this self confidence that allows us to be more successful in all aspects of life. It is a feeling that cannot be quantified or classified, but you know when you have it! That feeling is what makes us attractive.
